All Hallows Runners

The All Hallows Runners are an inclusive, informal and friendly running group, based at All Hallows church but open to all - church members, friends and anyone who wants to keep fit and have fun. All Hallows is the official church of the London Marathon - but not all our runners are so ambitious in their targets! Unfortunately our monthly meetings are currently suspended due to the lock-down, but we are continuing our personal runs and look forward to meeting up again soon. For more info or if you have a question, please contact Martin (

Wednesday 3 June was Global Running Day, and our aim was to run/walk a marathon (26.2 miles) between us as part of our 2.6 Challenge to help the world's poorest communities, whilst keeping active during lockdown. Many of our congregation and friends took part, and together we completed an amazing 116.8 miles (188km) - more than 4 marathons! Some highlights included:

- Furthest from the UK was Bertrand running in Montreal.
- Two half-marathons - Carl and Martin.
- Our youngest participant, Sonny, walked to St Mary's in Walkern.
- Ian's walk between Bristol and Gloucester dioceses.
- International cross country runner Andy's speedy 10 miles.
- A more leisurely 8 inches by a Derbyshire snail - every little helps.
- Other runs and walks in Croydon, Sussex, central London, Newcastle and more.

We did it all for fun, of course, but also in support of our Christian Aid 2.6 Challenge.
