This elaborate 16th Century monument in the north aisle of the church shows just how international trading in the city was.
The Italian, Hieronimus Benalius, came from Bergamo and lived in Seething Lane. He died in 1583, and left instruction for Masses to be said for the repose of his soul.
The memorial is the work of the late Southwark School of Masons.
